FreeFileSync è un programma open source molto valido di comparazione e sincronizzazione file e cartelle archiviati su percorsi, HD e supporti differenti. Di facile utilizzo può essere usato sia con l'interfaccia integrata che da riga di comando.
Alcune caratteristiche:

* Nessun limite al numero di file da sincronizzare

* Supporta i file con nomi molto lunghi (più di 256 caratteri)

Installazione:
Avviare il FreeFileSync_vx.x_setup.exe, accettata la licenza si arriva a questa schermata relativa alla fase vera e propria di installazione
se invece preferite utilizzarlo in modo portabile impostate come da immagine. Ovviamente il percorso di dove estrarre il software è a libera scelta. Ricordatevi di mettere il nome della cartella, io ho usato il nome del programma ma potete mettere quello che volete.
Bene cliccate su installa e una volta terminato cliccate su fine.
Una volta avviato il programma la prima cosa che vi chiede è se attivare o meno gli aggiornamenti settimanali, cliccate su NO.
Cliccando sull'ingranaggio blu si ha la possibilità di selezionare il tipo di confronto
L'ingranaggio verde permette di selezionare la modalità di sincronizzazione, come gestire gli errori e le cancellazioni dei file

Nella nuova versione durante la procedura di installazione, qualsiasi essa sia (install o portable), appare una nuova finestra
Selezionare Installazione Personalizzata e togliere la spunta a tutte le caselle
Per i maniaci della portabilità, in realtà anche utilizzando la procedura già descritta, nel registro di sistema viene aggiunta una chiave con relativo valore.
